enGage ludiCity

3 Stages

enGage ludiCity (GC) entails a three stage process:

ludus constituo

• contributors devise a process of Situationist Disruptive ludiCity (SDC) by using the Situationist Ludic Builder (SLB) website at http://la.remap.ucla.edu/ludicity.
• contributors engage in one week of Situationist Disruptive Actions (SDAs) and geo-document the situations and their aftereffects using the Situationist Messaging System (SMS).
• one goal of the DLAs (disruptive ludic actions) is to seek the occurrence of “Situationist Aleatory Encounters” (SAEs) with other contributors. When occurring, these SAEs trigger a Situationist Ludic Exchange (SLE).
• all contributors input is processed by the Situationist Algorithmic Planner (SAP) and result in a set of ludic maps and enGagement protocols for urban drifting (derive & detournement).

ludus locus

• on June 20th, contributors will gather at 727 South Spring Street, Downtown Los Angeles (site of the “g727” gallery and of the Photocartographies show), for a set of Situationist Ludic Drifts (SLDs) through downtown and beyond on the basis of the Situationist Algorithmic Planner (SAP) output (group formation, and drifting rules).
• each Situationist Drifting Group (SDG) will be equipped with Situationist Information Gadgetry (SIG) for automatic registration (gps, images, sounds) of their Situationist Ludic Drifts (SLDs). This Situationist Information Gadgetry (SIG) will operate in the background without any individual control.
• as part of the Situationist Ludic Drifts (SLDs) contributors will enGage in Situationist Urban Detournement (SUD), the transformation of Capitalist Urban Space (CUS) into Situationist Transformative Place (STP). Each group will have a specific transformative mission.
• all Situationist Drifting Groups (SDGs) will reconvene at an agreed time at 1635 North Spring, site of the Chiparaki Cultural Computing Center (CCCC), for food, drinks and more fun.

ludus meditor</big>

• contributors use the Situationist Reflexive Site (SRS) to access, annotate, and play with all of the data (text, maps, images, sounds) generated during the “ludens constituo” and “ludens locus” stages of GC (enGaged ludiCity).
• the contributors’ ludic interactions on the site generate a Situationist Protean Collage (SPC)
• the Situationist Ludic Framework (SLF) remains available for people to generate their own Situationist Ludic Actions (SLAs)

ludicious!
